In order to further improve MBA education system, the school has took efforts in enriching the contents and the syllabus of the MBA Program , improve MBA teaching quality and demonstrate the tradition to emphasize practice of MBA programs of Jinan University, since May 2008, MBA Education Center has launched MBA Practice Mentor Plan, aiming at building a communication platform for MBA alumni and students at school, exploring and developing interpersonal networks through the interaction between practice mentors and MBA candidates, helping MBA students in their academic growth and professional development through sharing experience and wisdom and providing an opportunity for alumni to repay to the University and its students.

Procedures of selection and appointment

Selection and appointment for the first time and re-appointment follow the same procedures as below:
1) Applicants fill in the Form of Application for Practice Mentor for Professional Degree Graduate Students of Jinan University
2) Assessment by the School of Management or MBA Education Supervisory Committee
3) Review by Graduate School
4) Approval by Chairman of Professional Degree Graduate Education Supervisory Committee
5) Issuance of Letter of Appointment

Matching mechanism of mentors and students

MBA Education Center hosts a “Practice Mentor Meeting” each year in May to help mentors and students in finding matching partners through face to face interactions and communications between them. The meeting consists of plenary session and group session (by industry). Application and distribution of practice mentors follow the principles of two-way choice and students have their own decision to apply or not to apply for mentors according to their own needs. After the practice mentor meeting, students shall select mentors online with the help of the staff of MBA Education Center and mentors then review the application information of students through website of the Center to decide whether to accept applications or not. If online matching is not successful, the Center shall step in to find suitable mentors for students.
