On March 31, the School of Management received an official notice from the AACSB Initial Accreditation Committee that the AACSB Progress Report submitted at the end of last year has been accepted, and that the School has officially progressed to the stage of writing Self Evaluation Report and preparing for the peer review visit.

The School of Management submitted the AACSB initial Self Evaluation Report in December 2019 and passed the preliminary review in February 2020, followed by the submission of the Progress Report in December 2020. In the process of obtaining AACSB accreditation for most business schools, two to three years of annual Progress Reports need to be submitted after the preliminary review is passed. The AACSB accreditation committee needs to be persuaded from the report submitted that the business school has been continuously improving in all aspects of its operation, and has made sufficient progress in teaching, scientific research, social service etc. before permitting the school to prepare for peer review team visit. In our case, however, the School of Management submitted the progress report only once and entered the visit stage directly. This achievement is accredited to the strong support and attention from the school leadership, the proactive cooperation among various departments, and the full preparation of documentation by colleagues of the Accreditation Office. It also indicates the effect of significant continuous improvement of our School in all aspects, and the possibility of shortening the time of obtaining the final accreditation.

According to the notice, the AACSB Accreditation Committee will soon appoint a peer review team to the School, and the School will write the Self Evaluation Report and prepare for the on-site visit under the guidance of the team.
