International Academic Forum | “Advancing DEFT: The Dark Side of Influencer Economy” by Prof. Lin CONG

On 20th March, the first New Vision of Global Management: International Academic Forum of School of Management, JINAN UNIVERSITY was successfully held in the Lecture Hall of Shenzhen Tourism College. This forum was hosted by Dean of School of Management Wenjing LI, who invited Prof. Lin CONG, tenured professor of the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, and founding director of the Digital Economics and Financial Technology (DEFT) Lab, as the guest speaker. The topic of this talk is Advancing DEFT: The Dark Side of Influencer Economy.



Prof. Lin CONG is a world-renowned economist and founding scholar in the field of FinTech, with extensive research in the areas of digital economics, financial data science, blockchain and financial innovation. The Digital Economy and Financial Technology Laboratory (DEFT LAB) led by Prof. Lin CONG, on the other hand, is dedicated to advancing the application areas of digital economics, FinTech and commercial AI through innovative research.


Prof. Lin CONG introduced the project content and related results of the research in the lab, including digital payments, blockchain-based systems, decentralized finance (DeFi), token economics, and AI modules tailored for portfolio management, asset pricing, or management decision-making. Meanwhile, Prof. Lin CONG also shared his research on the anomalous behavior of blockchain transactions and provided further insights into the emerging influencer economy model, further targeting new media technologies and the challenges facing the traditional education system.

 


This lecture broadened the international research horizons for the faculty and students of SoM-JNU and attracted the wide participation of faculty and students of the School. The whole lecture was active and had a strong academic atmosphere, and thus the first New Vision of Global Management: International Academic Forum of the SoM-JNU came to a successful end.
