On April 25th, the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, officially announced that School of Management, JINAN UNIVERSITY has become a signatory member of the initiative. This marks a milestone on SoM’s journey to implement its internationalization strategy and deepen the "3+1 Green Strategy" under the vision of "To be the first-class business school in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, globally recognized for excellence in education and research".

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations supported initiative founded in 2007 that aims to raise the profile of sustainability in classrooms through Seven Principles focused on serving society and safeguarding our planet. As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organized relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions. Its thought leadership and media partners include AACSB, AMBA and CLADEA.

Since December 2021, SoM has fully launched the application procedure of signing PRME, alongside obtaining accreditation of AACSB, AMBA & BGA. During this period, the School insisted on "Levering development with accreditation", and has added “Make Commitment to SDGs” into its strategic goals. On this basis, the "3+1 Green Strategy" has been proposed, which is promoting the Research Center of Low Carbon Economy for Guangzhou Region, and contributing to to low-carbon and sustainable development in three dimensions: scientific research, teaching and social service.

Joining the PRME can effectively enhance the school’s capacity and preparation for international accreditation, as well as comprehensively promote its responsible management and sustainable development. In the future, SoM will proactively participate in various UN-organized activities, establish wider cooperative relationships with the world's top business schools, apply advanced international experience to cultivate business elites with a greater sense of social responsibility, and provide Chinese-practice cases of responsible management and sustainability education to better serve the construction of a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.
